Custom All Over Print Shirts

One of the most compelling and popular T-Shirt styles available today is the Custom All Over Print Shirts style.  This art effect is created using either all over dye sublimation or a jumbo over sized screen print.

The methodology used for your Custom All Over Print Shirts project depends on the requirement for each project.  For example, using custom dye sublimation printing, requires that the garment be made from 100% polyester or high poly thread counts.  The garment must also start out completely white and by dyed to the design or color desired.

Jumbo Screen Printing has no fabric or fabric color restrictions, multiple colors can be used but true “all over” effect is not possible to achieve and if it were, the ink would be so thick that the comfort level of wearing the garment would suffer.

All Over Print Shirt

The popularity of the All Over Print Shirt has dramatically grown since 2005.  Most retail T-Shirts feature an all over design not only on the front and back, but the sleeves as well.  The vast majority of those T-Shirts are decorated before they are sewn into T-Shirts.  Fabric panels are cut and decorated and then sewn into T-Shirts.  This method of All Over Print Shirt is the preferred method, however, over sized screen printing and seam to seam screen printing as well as custom dye sublimation can be used to accomplish the same look and feel.

All Over Shirt Printing using oversized screen printing offers the benefit of using any type of shirt made from any type of fabric.  You can have your design span the entire front or back of the garment, and the print will lay on top of the fabric, just like regular screen printing.  Multiple colors can be used and additives can be mixed in with your inks to provide a smooth touch to any design.  The overall area does include sleeves, neck and waist, and some customers print wrap around T-Shirts.

All Over Shirt Printing using custom dye sublimation offers the benefit of vivid colors, 360 degree printing and virtually full saturation of the design into the fabric of the garment.  Complex details including photos print with vivid realism.  There is no feel to a sublimation print, as the design is deeply fused into the fabric itself, making the print appear as if the fabric were made with the print already in it.

As an experienced Sublimation Shirts provider, AMBRO Manufacturing is aware of the pitfalls and nuances of post sewn garment dye sublimation.

Typically dye sublimation is most effective when performed on flat fabrics using a roll to roll dye sublimation press.  These presses can produce vivid and beautiful colors and designs on one or both sides of the fabric.

Starting out with 100% polyester fabrics in white, dye sublimation companies decorate rolls of fabric that are then sent to cut and sew facilities to be sewn together into finished garments.  Mostly done outside of the United States, these cut and sew manufacturing facilities can take anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks to complete a project and the quality and consistency vary.

Recently, new methods of creating Sublimation Shirts and new technologies have enabled custom dye sublimation decorating companies to create amazing designs on T-Shirts that have already been sewn into T-Shirts.  This type of dye sublimation printing eliminates the time delay and expense of off shore or on shore custom cut and sew operations.

There are some minor effects of post sewn dye sublimation that include accidental folds and missed dye sub areas, but these typically occur in areas that are not readily noticeable.  When compared to the time requirements and costs of off shore cut and sew, these minor defects become far less important to customers.

All Over Sublimation Printing

The process of converting a 100% polyester white Tee Shirt into a work of art is called All Over Sublimation Printing.  This process involved amazing artwork, specialty printing equipment, experience and a lot of work space area.

All Over Sublimation Printing

There has been a major resurgence of All Over Sublimation Printing in today’s fashion market.  Many of the all over t shirt designs that you see in retail stores today are All Over Sublimation Printing.

Sublimation printing offers a lot of flexibility to the professional and amature fashion designer.  With the ability to wrap a design in 360 degrees around a Tee Shirt, the possibilities of design are truly endless.

When All Over Sublimation Printing was first introduced, limitations of design included the need to have a completely flat piece of fabric to sublimate.  This meant that designers that wanted to use sublimation printing had to also involve cut and sew in their process.

Today, with advanced in wide format printing, industrial heat supply and some clever Tee Shirt designing, All Over Sublimation Printing can be accomplished on an already sewn Tee Shirt.  There are some glitches in the process and it’s impossible to achieve 100% coverage, but experienced sublimation printers can achieve 98%-99% coverage.  Some “missed” areas may occur near the neck line and the arm pits.

When comparing the cost of a cut and sew project with a post sewn Tee Shirt Sublimation project, those small glitches are often acceptable to customers.
