Now you are probably asking yourself what is large format silk screen printing? Large format silk screen printing is not very commonly practiced in the printing industry. The equipment can be expensive and hard to get a hold of so most of the large format screen printing is done using non-screen printing, which would be sublimation. But here at AMBRO Manufacturing we offer unique large format screen printing as well as traditional screen printing.

The process of large format silk screen printing begins with creating a specialized jumbo screen, which we produce ourselves in house. The screens are custom built for each job. Once the screen is developed our artist converts the artwork on a specialized digital film. After that process the image is transferred to specialized screens through a large formant UV curing system. After the screen dry they are mounted on our large format screen printing presses and the printing can begin. Large format silk screen printing is the same as traditional screen printing except on a larger scale.

Jumbo Screen Printing

Jumbo Screen Printing

Jumbo Screen Printing

AMBRO Manufacturing is a specialty contract screen printing company that specializes in Jumbo Screen Printing. Often called All Over Shirt Printing, Large Format Screen Printing, Over Sized Screen Printing or a variety of other suitable descriptions, Jumbo Screen Printing on the entire surface area of a T-Shirt, from seam to seam, shoulder to waist and on the neck.

Jumbo Screen Printing

Most standard screen printing presses offer a maximum of a 14” x 16” print area. This type of print area is perfect any T-Shirt. However, when artists and fashion designers begin offering T-Shirts with prints that completely cover the surface area of the front and back of a T-Shirt, these small screen sizes won’t do the job.

There is no governing body in the screen printing industry that defines what Jumbo Screen Printing actually means. As a result, providers across the country make claims of Jumbo Screen Printing and they can’t always provide the level of print that is expected by their customers.

Some screen printers that don’t have Jumbo Screen Printing equipment will “seam” together two prints to give the illusion of an all over print. Even with manual alignment, seaming always leaves a noticeable seam area.

In order to truly get an all over screen print, specialized screens, pallets and presses must be used.

AMBRO Manufacturing has an internal machine shop staffed with engineers that provide the tooling and experience necessary for us to achieve truly large screen printing results.

AMBRO Manufacturing defines “Jumbo” as anything starting with 40” x 40” of print area, we calculate not the size of the frame, but the actual size of the printable area. Large format screen printing is a specialty that few screen printers offer.

Simulated Process Screen Printing

Simulated Process Screen Printing

Simulated Process Screen Printing

Simulated Process Screen Printing is a special screen printing method that allows screen printers to print in full color, high resolution quality and reproduce photo realistic results on dark garments.

Traditional 4 color process printing, not simulated, is used when printing on white garments, but when switching to dark garments, Simulated Process Screen Printing is required.

Where as a traditional 4 color process printing job is truly 4 colors, a simulated process screen printing job is typically 4 to 6 colors and depending on the design may be up to 10 colors.

Simulated Process Screen Printing

The process of Simulated Process Screen Printing relies on specialized custom inks that are opaque (can be seen through) and a software process of separating the colors of the original artwork into the 4 distinct colors required to produce the desired outcome.

As you are aware, your television can produce realistic images using only Red Green and Blue, in a similar technique, Simulated Process Screen Printing uses 4 colors and a white underbase to create the desired photo realistic effect for your garment.

AMBRO Manufacturing is a professional cut and sew, garment, fabric and textile decorating company based in New Jersey.  Our specialties include : Jumbo Screen Printing, Over Sized Screen Printing, Sublimation Printing, Embroidery, Cut and Sew and Simulated Process Screen Printing as well as 4 color process printing.

Our expert team of garment engineers will help you walk through the process of developing the perfect Simulated Process Screen Printing garment.  Speaking with us in advance of your project will ensure a great outcome.

We often find that our customers ask us for a specific item using a specific process, when there may be a better process that will yield better results.  It is for this reason that we approach each project as a consultative approach to ensure your satisfaction and a high quality product.

With a wide range of Professional Screen Printing services under one roof, AMBRO Manufacturing prides ourselves in being an American, one stop shop for your fabric needs.

When you are searching for a high quality Professional Screen Printing partner, the selection in the marketplace almost seems endless.  There are huge companies, medium sized and mom and pop shops that all seem to be able to provide the same level of products and services.

It is difficult to generalize how any one company will perform for you based on their size or years in business, however, the size and experience of the company that you choose can help or hurt you.

What I mean by this is that very large companies with a huge amount of experience sound like a great option, but you’ll often feel like a number in line vs. an important customer.  Very small companies with decent experience can seem like a great option but they may not have the capacity to keep up with our growing needs.  Medium companies often fall in the middle.

When selecting your screen printing partner, interview them, visit their site and ask to see samples of their work.  You’ll be able to quickly tell if they are the right fit for you.

All Over Shirt

All Over Shirt

All Over Shirt

AMBRO Manufacturing is a privately held and operated contract screen printer in Flemington, NJ.  Our specialties include : Jumbo Screen Printing, Over Sized Screen Printing, Large Format Screen Printing, Sublimation Printing and All Over Shirt Printing.

All Over Shirt

All Over Shirt Screen Printing is very different than standard screen printing.  The first and most missed element is the various additional screens required for the process.

In most standard screen printing jobs, the most screens that you might use for different sizes would be two sets.  Typically a set for adult and a set for youth.  In All Over Shirt Screen Printing, one set per size is required.  So if you have 6 sizes in your run and you have 4 colors in each design, you’ll need 24 screens for that single job.  Since screen setup costs for All Over Shirt prints tend to be higher, you may want to prepare your client for much higher setup fees.

By natue an All Over Shirt screen print is … well … all over.  The integrity of a specific design might be impacted by the size of the shirt.  As an example, let’s say that you were licensed to print Kermit The Frog.  If Kermit’s head was 30 inches wide in the design and you were printing on Small, Medium, Large, XL and 2XL, Kermit’s ears would not get printed on the smalls and mediums because 30 inches exceeds the width of those garments.  Kermit would fit perfectly on the large and on the XL and 2XL there would be a lot of blank space.  Each size shirt in the rung would make the design look very different.  It is for this reason that in a true All Over Shirt print, separate screens for each size shirt must be made.

Oversized Screen Printing T Shirts

Oversized Screen Printing T Shirts

Oversized Screen Printing T Shirts

AMBRO Manufacturing provides Oversized Screen Printing T Shirts to companies across the U.S.  With custom made jumbo screen printing presses, our specialties include: Jumbo Screen Printing, Over Sized Screen Printing, Large Format Screen Printing and Oversized Screen Printing T Shirts.

Oversized Screen Printing T Shirts

One of the frustrating components of searching for a contract screen printing company that specializes in Oversized Screen Printing T Shirts is that your results will turn up hundreds of candidates, and none of them can print as big as you need them too.

Unfortunately, there is no definitive definition of the word “Oversized” when it comes to the print world.  This means that you might be hitching your cart to a screen printer who defines oversized as 25″.  While that is an impressive print stroke, it’s no where near “oversized”.

We believe that Oversized Screen Printing T Shirts should not come into play until a minimum of 40″.  Our standard Jumbo or Oversized screen printing area is 40″ x 40″.  Beyond that we have several specialty screens, that measure in feet vs inches.  Whatever the print job requires, we can handle.

AMBRO Manufacturing staffs an in house machine shop that regularly develops new screens to meet the needs of our customers.  If you have an Oversized Screen Printing requirement, we would like to meet you.

Most of the Oversized Screen Printing T Shirts work that we do is actually on T-Shirts, but there is a wide range of other garments, fabrics and textiles that we print on where oversized screen printing is required.  From flags, to blankets, towels, trade show banners and many other items, our jumbo screen printing presses can handle the work.

Even more important than our equipment is our experience and knowledge.  We spend time in advance of starting a project, talking with customers to ensure that we fully understand their requirements.

Large Screen Printing

Large Screen Printing

Large Screen Printing

Large Screen Printing is a relative term in the screen printing industry.  Many screen printers claim to have the capabilities to print Jumbo Screen Prints or Over Sized Screen Printing.  Some call this All Over Shirt Printing or All-Over-Shirt Prints.  Ideally, Large Screen Printing is the largest surface area of print that you need for your project.

Large Screen Printing

As an expert garment, textile and fabric printing company, AMBRO Manufacturing has over 30 years of experience in the Screen Printing industry.  Our primary specialty is Large Screen Printing.  With a standard large print area of 40″ x 40″, we can handle most Large Screen Printing jobs without the need for retooling.  However, we have an onsite machine shop that is capable of developing any size screen required for your print job.

When using Large Screen Printing for your project, keep in mind that unlike traditional screen printing, all over prints require that you have a separate screen for each size garment in your run.  This will translate into slightly higher setup costs but will result in you achieving your overall result.

Custom Dye Sublimation Printing can often be mistaken for Large Screen Printing.  The overall nature of the print is similar, but the technologies are different and the look and feel of the fabrics are also different.

Sublimation technology requires polyester fabrics and Large Screen Printing has no fabric preference.  This is a benefit for using screen printing.  However, Sublimation technology saturates the fabric and leaves virtually 100% coverage with no added weight or feel to the garment, Large Screen Printing leaves a fair amount of ink on the surface of the fabric.

Working with large screen printing and all over shirt printing experts is a must when considering a project of this type.  Pre Planning makes a huge difference in the end result.

Wholesale T Shirt Printing

Wholesale T Shirt Printing

Wholesale T Shirt Printing

AMBRO Manufacturing provides Wholesale T Shirt Printing Services to the trade.  With clients all over North America and Canada, AMBRO Manufacturing provides exceptional customer service, fast turn around time, fair pricing and amazing quality.

Wholesale T Shirt Printing

When doing your research for Wholesale T Shirt Printing partners, it’s important to fully vet the companies that you are considering.  Wholesale T Shirt Printing companies come in various shapes and sizes.  Some might be too big for you, and while they can do the work, you’ll just be a number to them and you will rarely get a return phone call or the ability to discuss your project with them.

Other Wholesale T Shirt Printing companies will be too small for you.  You may like the contact that you’ve met, but in most cases that contact does everything at the company and when overwhelmed with work, may have the best intentions, but not enough hours in the day to either finish your work, or call you back when you have questions.

Then, there are moderate, middle of the road companies, that are just big enough to handle your Wholesale T Shirt Printing requirements, but not so big that they will not know who you are when you call.  There is a lot to be said about the ability to call your partner and have them know your name by voice alone and have immediate recall of why you are calling and what stage your job is in.

In many instances these medium sized Wholesale T Shirt Printing companies are the perfect fit for most any project, large or small.

When interviewing potential partners, don’t be afraid to ask as many questions up front as you can.  Remember, their work, communication, quality, customer service and pricing will all translate into what you can provide to your customer.  Your Wholesale T Shirt Printing partner will be a direct reflection of you.

If you are considering a new partner for Wholesale T Shirt Printing Services, please consider giving us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.

Full Dye Sublimation

Full Dye Sublimation

Full Dye Sublimation

AMBRO Manufacturing is a garment, textile and fabric decorating company with over 30 years of embellishment experience.  Our specialty areas of decoration are over sized screen printing, jumbo screen printing, all-over-shirt printing and Full Dye Sublimation.

Full Dye Sublimation

The process of Full Dye Sublimation involves specialized wide format industrial printing equipment, specialized sublimation dyes, industrial heat and pressure, and white polyester fabrics.

Polyester fabrics come in a wide range of styles and textures for Full Dye Sublimation.  The more polyester content that is included in a fabric, the more vivid and crisp the colors and design for the Full Dye Sublimation project will be.

Polyester family members like Rayon, Nylon, Satin and Spandex will also work well.  Fashion tees that have a blend of cotton and polyester can work, but the more cotton that is added to the fabric blend, the less bright and less crisp the images will be.

Full Dye Sublimation is typically used for cut and sew projects where the fabric panels required in the garment are cut and dyed first, then sewn together.  However, with recent advances in Full Dye Sublimation technologies, companies like AMBRO Manufacturing can produce post sewn Full Dye Sublimation garments, i.e. T-Shirts, Hoodies, Tank Tops etc … that have already been sewn into those items, can be placed flat on the press and sublimated.

When using an existing garment for a Full Dye Sublimation project, there will be some areas of the garment that are not able to receive the sublimation print.  These areas are typically where the shirt creases, under the arm pits, near the seams etc.  This is unavoidable when sublimating on existing garments.  Even the most experienced sublimation printing experts can not avoid this issue.

The solution is to create artwork that understands these limitations and makes them less noticeable.

If you are interested in a Full Dye Sublimation project, please consider giving us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.

All Over Screen Printing

All Over Screen Printing

All Over Screen Printing

All Over Screen Printing is the impressive practice of using traditional silk screen printing technology, with oversized screens, squeegies and a jumbo press to accomplish a beautiful all over shirt look, without the need for sublimation printing.

All Over Screen Printing

AMBRO Manufacturing has been in the garment, textile and fabric printing business for more than 30 years.  Specializing in All Over Screen Printing, AMBRO Manufacturing has the expertise and experience that you’ll need to have a successful All Over Screen Printing project.

Sublimation Printing can produce impressive results for all over printing but you are limited to polyester fabrics for your garment choices.  Using All Over Screen Printing, any fabric or garment can be used.

There are some distinct differences between custom dye sublimation printing and Jumbo Screen Printing, mainly the saturation levels of the print, and the technologies used to produce the print.

Custom Dye Sublimation offers a “no feel” result, vs. All Over Screen Printing that has some feel to it.

Typically All Over Screen Printing is done using 2, maybe three colors at most, and the standard size print area of the garment is done with traditional dimensions.  The reason for this is that once the print area reaches the outer edges of the print screen, it is difficult to maintain proper registration.

All Over Screen Printing is often used to produce accents on the edges, sleeves and neck, and standard screen printing to create the core of the design in the center of the garment.

If you haven’t seen an all over print, you are definitely missing out, as the results are simply stunning and spectacular.  Working with an experienced jumbo screen printer is important, when selecting a company to partner with, make sure that you request samples of their work.
