Cut and Sew

Cut and Sew

The process of Cut and Sew manufacturing was once an American main stay business, but today, the vast majority of Cut and Sew manufacturing is done off shore.  Why?  Well … that’s a long story, but let’s just say that it’s because most people are accustom to paying between $7-$12 for a T-Shirt, or $15.95 – $22.00 for a pair of shorts, and with American wages being what they are, and the cost of doing business what it is, those figures just can’t be matched in the United States for cut and sew.

However, there are several niche Cut and Sew manufacturing operations like AMBRO Manufacturing, that still keep the business alive and profitable in the United States.

Cut and Sew

There are a few important factors that you might consider when looking to do Cut and Sew manufacturing in the United States.  Here are some to think about …

1.  Most American Cut and Sew companies are not going to be able to do a project for you if your requirements are less than 500 pieces.  Unlike home sewing, industrial machines are set up to perform specific tasks quickly.  They are set to work with specific fabrics using specific threads and they can only do one thing.  So if the companies that you are considering are making canvas bags and you want cotton T-Shirts, they are not going to want to re-tool their machines to make you 36 T-Shirts.  So think of the volume that you need when researching companies.

2.  The price point compared to over seas sewing is going to be at least 5x higher.  One must understand that the U.S. promotes safe working environments, fair wages, health care benefits and many other nice to have worker friendly things that cost money.  Unlike in Pakistan or China where for the cost of a cup of American Coffee, workers will spend day and night sewing your goods.  So if you want a custom T-Shirt made for $5.00, the U.S. is not the place to be, consider $20.00 to $25.00 your cost for a T-Shirt in the U.S.

3.  The quality and consistency of items made overseas vs. the U.S. will be vastly different, as will the turn around time of the products that you require.  You can bank on 8 weeks minimum for over seas work and import duties, taxes, tarrifs etc … to deal with.

Finding domestic Cut and Sew manufacturing is a challenge, but not impossible.  You you are interested in Cut and Sew in the United States, please consider giving us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.

Wholesale Sublimation Printing

As a contract garment, textile and fabric decorator with over three decades of experience, AMBRO Manufacturing specializes in Wholesale Sublimation Printing.

The process of dye sublimation printing is not a complex one, but a process that requires specialized equipment, knowledge and experience.  Using specialty inks, transfer substrates, industrial heat and custom fabrics, Wholesale Sublimation Printing can produce amazing results that will impress any client.

Wholesale Sublimation Printing

When beginning a sublimation project, there are a few important factors to consider before starting your work.  Clearly you will want to identify a high quality and reasonably proceed Wholesale Sublimation Printing company that you can communicate with easily, and that is capable of doing your work.

After selecting the right partner, identifying the proper garment to dye sublimate on and preparing the proper artwork for the project is the next important step.

Custom Dye Sublimation is more of an art than a production process.  While it’s possible to create multiple versions of the same design, there will always be small nuances in each.

In addition, post sew custom dye sublimation will often leave “artifacts” behind, like blank areas where sublimation could not occur due to folds in the garment.  Qualified custom dye sublimation experts like AMBRO Manufacturing do everything possible to keep the number of artifacts low, but it’s impossible for any printer to produce custom dye sublimation gear without some level of folding and artifacts.  Typically these issues occur under the arm pits or on the bottom side areas and if the artwork is created properly, they tend to blend in and not cause an issue.

When comparing the costs and turn around times required for cut and sew projects, where these nuances are a non issue, post sewn custom dye sublimation is often an acceptable alternative, even with these factors.

If you are interested in talking with a high quality, reasonably priced Wholesale Sublimation Printing company, please consider giving us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.

Custom All Over Print Shirts

Custom All Over Print Shirts

Custom All Over Print Shirts

One of the most compelling and popular T-Shirt styles available today is the Custom All Over Print Shirts style.  This art effect is created using either all over dye sublimation or a jumbo over sized screen print.

Custom All Over Print Shirts

As a custom garment, textile and fabric decorator with over 30 years of decorating experience, AMBRO Manufacturing specializes in Custom All Over Print Shirts using both Jumbo Screen Printing and Sublimation Printing.

The methodology used for your Custom All Over Print Shirts project depends on the requirement for each project.  For example, using custom dye sublimation printing, requires that the garment be made from 100% polyester or high poly thread counts.  The garment must also start out completely white and by dyed to the design or color desired.

Jumbo Screen Printing has no fabric or fabric color restrictions, multiple colors can be used but true “all over” effect is not possible to achieve and if it were, the ink would be so thick that the comfort level of wearing the garment would suffer.

Custom All Over Print Shirts are a great way to differentiate your brand identity, but working with an experienced over sized garment printing company is critical so that you and your team can avoid the possible landmines of the process.

Each method has advantages and disadvantages that need to be considered to ensure a successful outcome.

When comparing capabilities in the marketplace, it can confusing to consumers because there is no set definition of “Jumbo” or “Over Sized”  Most standard screen printing presses can print at a range of 14″ x 16″ so if a screen printing company has a press that can print 20″ x 20″ they may consider that as Jumbo and market it as such.

AMBRO Manufacturing defines Jumbo or Over Sized Screen Printing as the ability to print on the entire surface of the shirt with no limitations.  This means, neck to waist and shoulder to shoulder printing on both the front and the back.  AMBRO Manufacturing offers Custom All Over Print Shirts in it’s most literal sense.

All Over Print Shirt

All Over Print Shirt

The popularity of the All Over Print Shirt has dramatically grown since 2005.  Most retail T-Shirts feature an all over design not only on the front and back, but the sleeves as well.  The vast majority of those T-Shirts are decorated before they are sewn into T-Shirts.  Fabric panels are cut and decorated and then sewn into T-Shirts.  This method of All Over Print Shirt is the preferred method, however, over sized screen printing and seam to seam screen printing as well as custom dye sublimation can be used to accomplish the same look and feel.

All Over Print Shirt

As an experienced garment, textile and clothing decorator, AMBRO Manufacturing specializes in seam to seam screen printing, jumbo oversized screen printing and custom dye sublimation printing.

Each method of large format screen printing offers different benefits and limitations for the work being done.  Speaking with an expert in garment or fabric decoration is essential to achieving success in your project.

Very few contract screen printing companies are capable of producing jumbo screen printing results.  Even fewer contract screen printing companies are capable of producing seam to seam printing with accuracy and precision.

Using specialized equipment that we have machined ourselves, AMBRO Manufacturing produces amazing seam to seam and All Over Print Shirt results.  We can take your concept from start to shirt within 10 business days or less.  If your brand or event is looking to stand out in a crowd of 12″ x 14″ designs, oversized screen printing is a great option and custom dye sublimation printing can create a wow as well.

When researching the right partner for your All Over Print Shirt project, be careful in describing what you mean by “jumbo” print.  That term is fluid and means something different to everyone.

Sublimation T-Shirt Printing

Sublimation T-Shirt Printing

The process of Sublimation T-Shirt Printing produces amazing works of art that can be worn out and about.  Using the specialized process of dye sublimation, takes science and turns it into art.

With over 30 years of experience, AMBRO Manufacturing has been providing garment decorating and fabric embellishment services to the trade.  With the resurgence of polyester performance fabrics, Sublimation T-Shirt Printing has taken off and has carved out it’s own special niche in the marketplace.

Sublimation T-Shirt Printing

Firmly rooted in urban communities, young entrepreneurs are selling amazing works of art going door to door or directly out of their trunk.  The next FuBu could be out there.

The amazing part of working with the Sublimation T-Shirt Printing process is that fashion incubators can launch high quality retail level merchandise without the large cost of set ups and the high minimums that are usually associated with multiple color designs.

Companies like AMBRO Manufacturing offer low minimum quantities, just 12, to launch a brand.  Fashion entrepreneurs can launch a brand on a shoestring but have a product line that looks like they are a huge company.

Most fashion entrepreneurs think that they need to immediately jump into a cut and sew environment to produce truly unique garments.  While cut and sew does open up a wide range of fashion possibilities, the high costs associated with domestic cut and sew projects often scare would be fashion moguls away.

There are of course over seas cut and sew options, but the unknown of working with someone thousands of miles away, inconsistent quality control and the risk of pay first and wait for 8 weeks or more for product delivery, coupled with customs clearances and other issues, is not always the best option either.

Post sewn garments can be sublimated and done well with minimal issues.  While not perfect, this solution is often an acceptable compromise for start up fashion companies that are looking to launch their brand.

Dye Sublimation Shirts

Dye Sublimation Shirts

One of the most important advances in the fashion incubator world is the proliferation of Dye Sublimation Shirts.  Once only available in cut and sew environments, Dye Sublimation Shirts are not possible on T-Shirts that are factory sewn, meaning, you can achieve all over sublimation print (within reason) on post sewn garments.

Dye Sublimation Shirts

Experienced garment, textile and fabric decorating companies like AMBRO Manufacturing have pioneered methods to achieve 360 degree print coverage on Dye Sublimation Shirts without having to move to a higher cost cut and sew operation.

While there are some design aspects that can not be accomplished without cut and sew, Dye Sublimation Shirts that are done flat and by an experienced dye sub decorator can be so close to perfect, that there are no valid concerns to warrant a full out custom cut and sew.

Turn around times for this type of sublimation project are much shorter, and the results are simply eye popping.  If you are new to sublimation and are considering launching a new brand or supporting an existing brand, dye sublimation printing is a technology that should be considered.

Unlike screen printing, custom dye sublimation has no feeling to it, the images are fused directly into the fabric.  There are some restrictions on what fabrics can be used for a dye sublimation project, but with today’s polyester and poly blends, there is often a fabric that is suitable for any project.

Working with AMBRO Manufacturing, we can assist you from the design phase through to the production of your garment.  We look forward to meeting you and hearing about your project.

AMBRO Manufacturing is a wholesale contract screen printing, contract embroidery and contract Sublimation Shirts provider.  With over 30 years of experience, AMBRO Manufacturing provides outstanding customer service, amazing sublimation prints, fast turn around and no stress during your sublimation project.

Sublimation Shirts

As an experienced Sublimation Shirts provider, AMBRO Manufacturing is aware of the pitfalls and nuances of post sewn garment dye sublimation.

Typically dye sublimation is most effective when performed on flat fabrics using a roll to roll dye sublimation press.  These presses can produce vivid and beautiful colors and designs on one or both sides of the fabric.

Starting out with 100% polyester fabrics in white, dye sublimation companies decorate rolls of fabric that are then sent to cut and sew facilities to be sewn together into finished garments.  Mostly done outside of the United States, these cut and sew manufacturing facilities can take anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks to complete a project and the quality and consistency vary.

Recently, new methods of creating Sublimation Shirts and new technologies have enabled custom dye sublimation decorating companies to create amazing designs on T-Shirts that have already been sewn into T-Shirts.  This type of dye sublimation printing eliminates the time delay and expense of off shore or on shore custom cut and sew operations.

There are some minor effects of post sewn dye sublimation that include accidental folds and missed dye sub areas, but these typically occur in areas that are not readily noticeable.  When compared to the time requirements and costs of off shore cut and sew, these minor defects become far less important to customers.

What is Sublimation

What is Sublimation

The process of dye sublimation enables fashion designers and entrepreneurs to launch new lines of clothing with vivid and eye catching fabrics in days rather than weeks and months.  If you’ve been asking yourself what is sublimation, it’s without doubt a subject that you want to familiarize yourself with, especially if you are involved in the fashion industry.

What is Sublimation

Dye sublimation is effective only on polyester of polyester family member fabrics.  For example, fabrics like Nylon, Rayon, Spandex, Satin and Polyester blends all accept dye sublimation printing and provide vivid results.

Using the right garment decorator that has experience with dye sublimation, opens virtually limitless options for fabric designs.

What is Sublimation?  Sublimation is your key to rapid fashion prototyping, low run minimums and amazing production quality results.  Almost any garment can be sublimated.  Speaking with a sublimation industry expert can help give you ideas on what products that are pre-sewn can be sublimated.  Items like T-Shirts, Shorts, Pillow Cases, Socks and Headbands can all be dye sublimated.

In order to successfully launch a dye sublimated brand, partnering with a qualified Sublimation Specialist is essential.  Jumbo all over shirt printing requires industrial sublimation equipment and experience.  Working off shore can provide low price points, but often results in long turn around times, inconsistent quality and frustration.

There are qualified U.S. companies like AMBRO Manufacturing that offer fast turn around, prototyping, phone and in person consultation and competitive price points.  Investing in a product launch that requires sublimation is not challenging if you partner with the right Dye Sublimation expert.

If you have been asking yourself What is Sublimation? AMBRO Manufacturing is interested in speaking with you.  Please consider giving us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.

All Over Sublimation Printing

All Over Sublimation Printing

The process of converting a 100% polyester white Tee Shirt into a work of art is called All Over Sublimation Printing.  This process involved amazing artwork, specialty printing equipment, experience and a lot of work space area.

All Over Sublimation Printing

There has been a major resurgence of All Over Sublimation Printing in today’s fashion market.  Many of the all over t shirt designs that you see in retail stores today are All Over Sublimation Printing.

Sublimation printing offers a lot of flexibility to the professional and amature fashion designer.  With the ability to wrap a design in 360 degrees around a Tee Shirt, the possibilities of design are truly endless.

When All Over Sublimation Printing was first introduced, limitations of design included the need to have a completely flat piece of fabric to sublimate.  This meant that designers that wanted to use sublimation printing had to also involve cut and sew in their process.

Today, with advanced in wide format printing, industrial heat supply and some clever Tee Shirt designing, All Over Sublimation Printing can be accomplished on an already sewn Tee Shirt.  There are some glitches in the process and it’s impossible to achieve 100% coverage, but experienced sublimation printers can achieve 98%-99% coverage.  Some “missed” areas may occur near the neck line and the arm pits.

When comparing the cost of a cut and sew project with a post sewn Tee Shirt Sublimation project, those small glitches are often acceptable to customers.

AMBRO Manufacturing is a large sublimation printing company based in New Jersey.  Our expertise on all over printing including sublimation printing can assist you in your sublimation printing project.

Sublimation Printing T Shirts

Sublimation Printing T Shirts

AMBRO Manufacturing is a custom garment, textile and fabric printing company in New Jersey.  An area of specialty for our company is Sublimation Printing T Shirts.

Sublimation Printing T Shirts involves the use of specialized fabrics, typically polyester, or polyester family members i.e. Rayon, Nylon, Spandex, Satin etc … Industrial Heat, Specialty Inks, Knowledge and Experience all go into making the perfect dye sublimated T Shirt.

Sublimation Printing T Shirts

AMBRO Manufacturing provides Sublimation Printing T Shirts wholesale to the trade.  Prices on per print for dye sublimation range from $9-$15 for a typical sized garment.  Fabric sublimation ranges based on the width of the fabric and the design.

While most of the work that we do is on already finished garments, we do offer Sublimation Printing T Shirts services but for fabric printing only.  If you are a cut and sew operation or you would like us to cut and sew your project, we can accommodate those requirements as well.

When working with your clients on their Sublimation Printing T Shirts projects, you will want to encourage them to design their artwork in a way that allows for some of the nuances of sublimation printing on a post sewn garment.

For example, small creases usually near the neck line or arm pit area can occur when providing Sublimation Printing T Shirts services on post sewn garments.  The reason for these tiny issues relate to not being able to keep a post sewn garment completely flat.  While 98% of the garment will be sublimated, it’s nearly impossible to get 100% coverage due to seams and wrinkles.

When you weigh the costs of a full cut and sew project with these small issues, it is often acceptable to have small white / non-sublimated areas in your Sublimation Printing T Shirts projects.

If you are interested in Sublimation Printing T Shirts projects, please consider giving us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.
