Contract Screen Printing

When seeking out new Contract Screen Printing providers to assist in your screen printing projects, the task at hand is not a simple one.  There are thousands of Contract Screen Printing companies in the United States and all of them come in a variety of sizes and shapes.

On the small end there are mom and pop organizations that operate out of their basement or garage, have a manual screen press, a small dryer and are capable of producing 500 shirts a day after which point they collapse from exhaustion.

Then there are medium sized shops that have 1 maybe 2 automatic machines, a large belt dryer and are capable of producing between 1,000 and 2,000 shirts a day.

And lastly, there are mega shops that have anywhere from 3 to dozens of automatic presses, multiple dryers and are capable of cranking out a tens of thousands of shirts a day.

Contract Screen Printing

Each potential Contract Screen Printing partner has their pros and cons.  Things to think about when selecting the appropriate type of Contract Screen Printing partner are:

1.  Are they big enough to produce the quantity of items that you need within the time frame that you need them.

2.  Are they too big for you?  Will you be treated like a customer or a number?

3.  Do they have all of the capabilities that you need to complete your project or are they a specialist/one trick pony?

4.  Can this company grow with you and satisfy not only your current requirements but your future needs as well.

5.  Is their communication style and frequency to your liking?

Of course these are only a few of the things that you will want to think about, but this gives you a good head start on the best way to approach finding a new Contract Screen Printing partner.

All Over Print Shirts

All Over Print Shirts

All Over Print Shirts

There is often confusion on the type of printing used to accomplish the look of All Over Print Shirts.  There are essentially 3 methods of achieving an all over print shirts look, and two of the three methods can be accomplished on existing garments.

All Over Print Shirts

Method #1

The most popular method today for producing All Over Print Shirts is the use of custom Dye Sublimation Printing.  This process involves the use of an already sewn T-Shirt that is completely white and made out of 100% polyester, high poly blends like 80/20 or 70/30 or made with polyester family members like: Spandex, Nylon, Satin, Rayon etc …

Sublimation T Shirt Printing will enable a designer to create a T-Shirt design that can be printed on the neck, sleeves, waist, front and back of a T-Shirt.  Using specialized dye sublimation inks and industrial heat and pressure, designs are fused into the fabic of the T-Shirt.  The result is eye popping colors, crisp edges, photo realism and a no-feel design.  Since the inks are dyed into the fabric, there is no feel to the design, it as if the shirt were manufactured that way during the fabric creation stage.

Method #2

Using special screen printing equipment that is designed to print all over the face of a T-Shirt, specialty garment, textile and clothing companies like AMBRO Manufacturing can provide All Over Print Shirts services using screen printing.  Most people think that sublimation or patterned fabrics are the only way to achieve and all over print shirts look, this isn’t true.  Jumbo Screen Printing or Over Sized Screen Printing can produce an amazing effect and accomplish printing on post sewn T-Shirts.  This print can extend on the sleeves, neck, T-Shirt Wrap Around Printing and down to the waist.  Front and back printing can be accomplished as well.

Method #3

The final method of accomplishing an All Over Print Shirts look is to use custom patterned fabrics.  This can only be accomplished in a true cut and sew project and requires that the shirts be manufactured to your specifications.

If you are interested in an All Over Print Shirts project, please consider giving us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.

Cut and Sew

Cut and Sew

Cut and Sew

The process of Cut and Sew manufacturing was once an American main stay business, but today, the vast majority of Cut and Sew manufacturing is done off shore.  Why?  Well … that’s a long story, but let’s just say that it’s because most people are accustom to paying between $7-$12 for a T-Shirt, or $15.95 – $22.00 for a pair of shorts, and with American wages being what they are, and the cost of doing business what it is, those figures just can’t be matched in the United States for cut and sew.

However, there are several niche Cut and Sew manufacturing operations like AMBRO Manufacturing, that still keep the business alive and profitable in the United States.

Cut and Sew

There are a few important factors that you might consider when looking to do Cut and Sew manufacturing in the United States.  Here are some to think about …

1.  Most American Cut and Sew companies are not going to be able to do a project for you if your requirements are less than 500 pieces.  Unlike home sewing, industrial machines are set up to perform specific tasks quickly.  They are set to work with specific fabrics using specific threads and they can only do one thing.  So if the companies that you are considering are making canvas bags and you want cotton T-Shirts, they are not going to want to re-tool their machines to make you 36 T-Shirts.  So think of the volume that you need when researching companies.

2.  The price point compared to over seas sewing is going to be at least 5x higher.  One must understand that the U.S. promotes safe working environments, fair wages, health care benefits and many other nice to have worker friendly things that cost money.  Unlike in Pakistan or China where for the cost of a cup of American Coffee, workers will spend day and night sewing your goods.  So if you want a custom T-Shirt made for $5.00, the U.S. is not the place to be, consider $20.00 to $25.00 your cost for a T-Shirt in the U.S.

3.  The quality and consistency of items made overseas vs. the U.S. will be vastly different, as will the turn around time of the products that you require.  You can bank on 8 weeks minimum for over seas work and import duties, taxes, tarrifs etc … to deal with.

Finding domestic Cut and Sew manufacturing is a challenge, but not impossible.  You you are interested in Cut and Sew in the United States, please consider giving us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.

Contract Screen Printers

Finding the best Contract Screen Printers to work with for your projects can be an exhausting and frustrating task.  There are many choices to choose from, but which company provides the right level of quality, communication, customer service and pricing that you feel comfortable working with?  After all, your Contract Screen Printers represent your brand, and if you are drop shipping, you are never going to see the end product, and when your customer opens the box, you want to feel confident that the results will wow them.  Choosing the right Contract Screen Printers is critical to your brand.

Contract Screen Printers

As an experienced garment, textile and fabric decorating company, AMBRO Manufacturing has over 30 years of experience and is a reputable and high quality Contract Screen Printers resource worthy of consideration.

When you are selecting the best contract screener, things that you may want to consider beyond just the price point are :

  • Will your screen printer return your calls?
  • How easy is it to pick up the phone and get your screen printer in person?
  • Does your screen printer have consistent quality worthy of your brand?
  • Does your screen printer have the production turn around time that you need?
  • Does your screen printer offer multiple services that benefit your company?
  • Is your screen printer financially stable?

These are just a few of the many questions that you may want to ask your screen printer before putting your eggs in their basket.  Historically, screen printers have been a “garage business” meaning that they operate small equipment out of a garage, and hey … that’s cool, that’s how we started!  But when you are building a business on your reputation of quality, speed and other factors, you want to make sure that you have a partner that can keep up.  There are tons of great garage businesses out there, but make sure that they fit your needs before signing on.

Custom All Over Print Shirts

Custom All Over Print Shirts

Custom All Over Print Shirts

One of the most compelling and popular T-Shirt styles available today is the Custom All Over Print Shirts style.  This art effect is created using either all over dye sublimation or a jumbo over sized screen print.

Custom All Over Print Shirts

As a custom garment, textile and fabric decorator with over 30 years of decorating experience, AMBRO Manufacturing specializes in Custom All Over Print Shirts using both Jumbo Screen Printing and Sublimation Printing.

The methodology used for your Custom All Over Print Shirts project depends on the requirement for each project.  For example, using custom dye sublimation printing, requires that the garment be made from 100% polyester or high poly thread counts.  The garment must also start out completely white and by dyed to the design or color desired.

Jumbo Screen Printing has no fabric or fabric color restrictions, multiple colors can be used but true “all over” effect is not possible to achieve and if it were, the ink would be so thick that the comfort level of wearing the garment would suffer.

Custom All Over Print Shirts are a great way to differentiate your brand identity, but working with an experienced over sized garment printing company is critical so that you and your team can avoid the possible landmines of the process.

Each method has advantages and disadvantages that need to be considered to ensure a successful outcome.

When comparing capabilities in the marketplace, it can confusing to consumers because there is no set definition of “Jumbo” or “Over Sized”  Most standard screen printing presses can print at a range of 14″ x 16″ so if a screen printing company has a press that can print 20″ x 20″ they may consider that as Jumbo and market it as such.

AMBRO Manufacturing defines Jumbo or Over Sized Screen Printing as the ability to print on the entire surface of the shirt with no limitations.  This means, neck to waist and shoulder to shoulder printing on both the front and the back.  AMBRO Manufacturing offers Custom All Over Print Shirts in it’s most literal sense.

4 Color Process Screen Printing

4 Color Process Screen Printing

AMBRO Manufacturing is a garment, textile and fabric decorator with over three decades of 4 Color Process Screen Printing experience.  Our manufacturing facilities are located in Flemington, NJ.  As an East Coast Screen Printing Company, we are strategically located within 1 hour drive of New York City and Philadelphia.

4 Color Process Screen Printing

The process of 4 Color Process Screen Printing is complex and requires significant expertise and know how.  Using CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) T-Shirt designers can create a virtually unlimited number of basic colors.

The process of 4 Color Process Screen Printing involves specialized opaque inks and a white underbase to achieve any color desired.  Some colors like metallics or neons are not part of the standard CMYK color spectrum and can’t be produced without extra screen printing plates and dedicated inks, but the vast majority of desired colors can be achieved.

Setting up for a 4 Color Process Screen Printing takes a decent amount of work, requires precise screen registrations and the proper sequence of inks being printed.  Since the inks are opaque, it does matter which order the colors are printed in.

Achieving amazing color prints on fabrics can be accomplished in a variety of ways but the most cost effective method for achieving these results is 4 Color Process Screen Printing.  Custom Dye Sublimation can be used as well, but fabric selection then becomes important.

As an experienced garment, fabric and textile printer, AMBRO Manufacturing has the knowledge and specialized equipment to exceed your expectations. If you are considering a multi color screen printing project, please talk with us before prior to your order.  There are nuances that need to be discussed and agreed on prior to art approval for any 4 Color Process Screen Printing project.

If you are interested in a 4 Color Process Screen Printing project, please consider giving us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.

Tees Design

Tees Design

AMBRO Manufacturing specializes in Tees Design and has been decorating garments for over three decades.  Our in-house Tees Design staff has access to a wide range of garment decorating technologies that include : Oversize T Shirt Printing, Jumbo T Shirt Printing, Sublimation Printing, Embroidery, DTG (Direct To Garment) printing and Digital Vinyl Print and Transfer.

Tees Design

There are many  online t shirt designing tools that enable individuals and companies to create custom Tees Design with relative ease.  However, these tools are somewhat limiting and only allow for stock clip art, uploaded clip art and some fonts to be used.  More advanced Tees Design methods like half tones, jumbo prints, drop shadows and other techniques and methods that make your Tees Design pop are not available in most online t shirt design tools.

Most contract screen printing companies have in-house art staff that can work with you to create Tees Design that could never be accomplished with a cookie cutter t shirt design tool.  You might be amazed at some of the things that you can accomplish with an affordable two color design, or a one color design that incorporates fades and half tones.

Using online design tools is great if you want a standard size print shirt, with minimal artistic flair.  But if you are looking for the wow factor and you want to turn heads with your designs, working with a talented T Shirt artist at a contract screen printing company can produce amazing results.

If you are concerned that working with a professional on staff artist will increase the cost of your project, you might be interested that many contract screen printers won’t charge you for art if you are ordering a specific quantity of T Shirts.

If you are interested in Tees Design please consider giving us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.
