Discharge Printing on Fabric

Discharge printing on fabric has become super popular over the past few years. Most people like discharge printing on fabric because there is very little to no hand at all after it has been printed. But not many people know much more than that about discharge printing. Like when you choose discharge printing on fabric, the fabric must be a dark (preferably Black) 100% cotton material. This is because the discharge inks are created to deactivate the dyes that are used in the natural materials like cotton. Then once the dyes that were in the fabric have been removed in the shape of your logo you can then add the colors that you would like to have your print to be in.

Not many companies offer discharge printing on fabric let alone offer jumbo or all over discharge printing, but AMBRO Manufacturing just so happen to offer all of those services and much more. We chose to bring in discharge printing because people are always looking to get sublimation on black shirts, but that is impossible so this is the next best thing if they do not want to dye sublimate the shirt to be black. We also love the way it looks and feels as well and how you can do an all over print and it feels as if there is nothing printed onto the shirt. If you have never gotten any discharge printing on fabric done before, we highly recommend you place an order for it so that you can see how truly amazing this print is with your own eyes and hands.

AMBRO Manufacturing would love to help you create your discharge printing but first we need you to pick up the phone and give us a call at (908) 806-8337 or to send us an email so we know what we can do for you.

Water Based Printing

Since the time that screen printing has been around, the tools and techniques have changed drastically in the past years. You can now get a lot of different styles of printing and some cool effects on garments. There is one place where any type of print can happen and that is at AMBRO Manufacturing.  Today I want to talk about Water Based Printing.

Water Based Printing

Most screen printing companies only do one or maybe two different styles of printing. We however can do so much more. Other than our standard printing that we offer, we can also offer you water based printing. There are not many printers that deal with water based printing and that is where we are different from the rest. The difference with plastisol ink and water based ink is a softer feel on the shirt. With our water based printing you can hardly feel ink on the shirt. It’s like the shirt never got a print on it but yet there is.

Water based ink works on all colors of shirts. We can get any color that you want by mixing a special formula. Some colors tend to feel softer than others, especially if we have to put two layers of ink on the shirt. Water based ink is much thinner than plastisol ink, which is the result of a softer print on the shirt. You can have an all over print or just a simple print on the front or back, the choices are endless.

You can give us a call any time at (908) 806 8337 or you can email us, and we will get back to you with any questions you have about our water based printing. We are located in Flemington, New Jersey and can ship out goods anywhere in the country. We are your one stop shop for all apparel printing purposes. We are about making your shirts be something that you have never seen before.

Discharge Screen Printing Process

If you love wearing old style shirts or shirts that have a texture in the design, then you will love what we call discharge screen printing. Go to any other screen printing company and they may not be able to offer this kind of service to you.  The Discharge Screen Printing Process offers clients the ability to print over seams and all over a T-Shirt on the front and back.

Here at AMBRO Manufacturing, we offer a wide range of services among the discharge screen printing process. Here is a little information about exactly what goes into the discharge screen printing process. First of all, discharge screen printing is meant for very dark colored shirts like black. When printing with discharge ink it will remove the dye of the shirt, almost like when you bleach a colored shirt and it has light areas in it. The design will remove the ink of the shirt and you will see a “bleached out” version of the design. You can also make a discharge print have color by adding colored additives to the discharge agent.

The end result is a nice soft print that you can hardly feel the ink on the shirt, and also it yields a nice vintage old look. Many people are starting to lean towards using water based or discharge ink because of the soft feel of the shirt with a design printed on it. Using this process really shows up nice when there are intricate designs in the artwork you provide.

Stop by our showroom to actually see what the discharge screen printing process produces. We have samples for you to get up close and really feel what it is like. You can give us a call any time at (908) 806 8337 or email us and we will have one of our sales representatives get back to you with anything you may need to know about the discharge screen printing process.

Given the proper amount of time, any industry is subject to an evolution.  The technology and marketplace around the industry start to change and grow as consumer needs change.  In the screen printing world, one of these developments was discharge screen printing.  To understand discharge screen printing, it’s important to first understand how it compares to traditional screen printing.

Discharge Screen Printing

Traditional screen printing previously used all plastisol inks.  These inks were great because they do not dry up so, if kept clean, they can be reused over and over again which is cost effective.  Plastisol inks, however, require strong cleaners to remove them from the screens which isn’t always the most environmentally-friendly.  Plastisol also leaves a “hand” to the print which means that you can feel the print on the shirt.  For some, a print with a hand is preferable while for others, they prefer printed garments without a hand.  Water based screen printing is a more recent development in printing technology that counteracts some of the disadvantages of plastisol screen printing.  With discharge screen printing, you are starting out with a water-based ink.

Water based screen printing gets its name from the way that it reacts with the garment to be printed.  The ink is formulated to remove the existing color from the fabric, “discharge”, and then deposit a new, desired pigment into the garment.  It is a rather fascinating process to watch because the discharge ink reacts to the heat during the drying process.  The ink is printed on clear and when it passes through the dryer, it comes out as a fully rendered color print.  If discharge screen printing sounds like a service you are interested in, we’d love to help you create your own custom garments here at AMBRO Manufacturing.  You can contact us by email or by calling us at (908) 806-8337.
